Connections Child and Family Counseling Services is a counseling service that specializes in trauma processing. We use methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Play Therapy, and Child Parent Psychotherapy to help our clients heal from their trauma. We believe that every person is capable of healing from their trauma, and we are committed to helping clients reach their full potential. We offer counseling services to families in Washington State.

About Us

Connections Child and Family Counseling Services is a telehealth counseling and in-person service that specializes in trauma processing and in providing culturally aware services to families and loved ones. These services take into account the clients lived experiences and their social and cultural contexts and values. We use methods such as Person-Centered Talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Play Therapy, and Child Parent Psychotherapy. We are passionate about helping children and families recover and grow.

We provide counseling services that specialize in trauma processing, behavior management, anxiety, depression, and parenting support. Assistance with resolving conflict and building relationships Support for parenting skills and development. 

The organization was founded in 2021 and has since expanded to serve individuals and families in Washington State. The counselors at Connections use evidence based treatment methods to help individuals and families overcome challenges and healing.

Maria G. Bazzell, LMHC, CMHS

Clinical Director

Maria is a mental health therapist licensed in Washington state who identifies as a Latinx Mexican cisgender woman who is bilingual in Spanish and English. Maria is the founder of Connections Child and Family Counseling Services.

Maria graduated from Eastern Washington University and specializes in treatment for children, young adults, adults, and families in trauma processing, anxiety, depression, behavior management, and parent support. Maria utilizes evidenced based therapies that focus on relationship building and creating stronger connections with loved ones.

Maria specializes in therapies such as Circle of Security, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Person-Centered Talk therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Maria strives to provide services to underserved BIPOC communities by partnering with multidisciplinary service providers and participating in community outreach.


Rates

SLIDING SCALE: Sliding scale is offered to individuals experiencing economic hardship, and anyone unable to access health insurance. Access to quality mental health care is important and we want to support individuals to achieve their goals and access mental health care services. There is limited space for sliding scale individuals. Please let your provider know in the initial consultation if you would like to be considered for a sliding scale.

POLICIES:
Cancellation:
48-hour notice is required to cancel and reschedule an appointment. If the appointment is canceled in less than 48 hours, the appointment will be charged in full without refund. The appointment may be rescheduled within the 48 hours window later in the week, depending on availability.
Payment: I require you to keep an active card on file. I will not charge your card without notification. If you do not show up for an appointment, cancel with less than 48 hours notice or you need to pay a copay, I will charge the card on file unless other arrangements were made.
